Russia fired 75 missiles at Ukraine a day after Putin’s bridge charge, 5 killed in multiple blasts

Ukraine War: An hour before the Kyiv Blasts, sirens warning of an air raid were sounded. A day earlier there was a deadly (Crimea Bridge Blast) explosion on the bridge connecting Russia's capital Moscow with Crimea, annexed from Ukraine.

KYIV: On Monday, three big explosions were heard in the heart of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. There are also reports of explosions in other cities of Ukraine. Ukraine says Russia fired a total of 75 missiles on Monday, asking the public to hide in a safe place. The deputy head of the presidential office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said that missiles are raining on Ukraine.” Five people are reported to have been killed in the latest attacks.

Earlier, according to an AFP journalist present in Kyiv, a day earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin had blamed Ukraine for the blast on the Crimea bridge over Ukraine. The explosions in Kyiv occurred at 08:15 am local time. An hour before the blasts, sirens warning of an air raid sounded in the Ukrainian capital.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on social media, “There were several explosions in the central area of ​​the capital.” In the video posted on social media, black smoke is seen rising from many areas of the city.

An AFP reporter saw several ambulances rushing towards the site of the blast. A day earlier, there was a deadly explosion on a bridge connecting Russia’s capital Moscow with Crimea, annexed from Ukraine. Putin blamed Ukraine for this blast. Kyiv was last attacked on 26 June.

Earlier on Saturday, 17 people were killed and 40 were injured in a rocket attack on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya. According to sources, the acting mayor of Zaporizhzhya Anatoly Kurtaev said that five houses were destroyed in the attacks and one apartment building was damaged.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, while addressing the country on Saturday, said that a heavy war is going on in Bakhmut in the eastern Donetsk region.
