G20 Summit: Russian President Vladimir Putin may participate in the summit of leaders of the Group 20 (G20) of developed and emerging economies to be held in New Delhi on 9-10 September. The Kremlin gave this information on Monday.

In fact, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was asked whether Putin would attend the summit in India. To this the spokesperson said that this cannot be ruled out. But no decision has been taken yet.

Putin did not attend the last two conferences

If Putin comes to India, it will be the first time in the last three years that he will participate in the G-20 meeting. He did not go to the G-20 conference held in Bali, Indonesia in 2022.

He sent Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to attend in his place amid pressure from Western countries over the Ukraine invasion. At the same time, Putin did not attend the G-20 held in Rome.

Conference will be held in Delhi on September

The G-20 leaders’ summit is to be held in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September. Peskov said that Russia continues its full participation in the G-20 format, we intend to continue it.
