Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal met with Banwarilal Purohit, the governor of Punjab, and other leaders on Wednesday. He submitted a memorandum requesting a CBI investigation into the state’s excise policy. SAD leader claimed there was a scam worth Rs 500 crore in the policy.
The scam took place in the state just a few months after chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was sworn in as the CM of Punjab.
Sukhbir Singh Badal tweeted, “Submitted a memorandum to the Punjab Governor & urged him to order CBI & ED probes into the Rs 500 crore scam committed by the AAP govt in Punjab through its “tailor-made” excise policy framed in line with the Delhi Policy, which has already been found illegal & case has been registered by the CBI.”
Badal alleged that Punjab’s excise policy is a carbon copy of Delhi’s excise policy. He had a meeting with the governor of Punjab. The Punjab excise commissioner went to Delhi and attended a meeting. This was to benefit a few. They have created a monopoly. If only one sells, he makes a profit. Earlier 100 would sell, now one will sell, “he added.
The Shiromani Akali Dal president also said that ” Arvind Kejriwal is the chief minister of Delhi due to Anna Hazare. He took education from him.
