The Mumbai Crime Branch, naming Godara as an accused, linked the firing incident to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Following arrests, the police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those involved.

Currently, six individuals have been arrested, with four still at large. The latest arrest, Harpal Singh, was apprehended in Fatehabad, Haryana, and will be presented in Mumbai’s MCOCA court.

Singh’s involvement surfaced during the interrogation of another accused, Mohammed Rafique Choudhary, who received financing from Singh for reconnaissance around Salman’s residence.

Anmol Vishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the incident. After weapons were delivered in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol provided shooters with target information and instructed them to carry out the firing. The shooters received ₹3 lakh for executing the planned incident.
