Sand Sculpture of PM Narendra Modi in Odisha Before Swearing-In Ceremony

Puri: Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a detailed sand sculpture of PM-designate Narendra Modi on Puri beach in Odisha. This artwork is a tribute to Modi ahead of his swearing-in ceremony, set for today at 7:15 pm. The sculpture includes a detailed image of Modi with the message “ABHINANDAN MODI JI 3.0” and “VIKSIT BHARAT” written below.

Preparations Across the Country for Modi’s Third Term
Posters of PM-designate Narendra Modi have been placed around Delhi as part of the preparations for his third consecutive term. His council of ministers will also take their oaths during the ceremony.

Security Measures and Historical Context
PM Modi is the first leader since Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for a third consecutive term after serving two full terms. For the ceremony, about 1,100 Delhi traffic police officers have been deployed, and a traffic advisory has been issued for attendees.

Important Guests Reflect India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ Policy
Several leaders from neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean region have been invited to the ceremony. These guests include the President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that these invitations are part of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and ‘SAGAR’ vision.

Additional Highlights of the Event
The MEA mentioned that besides the swearing-in ceremony, the invited leaders will attend a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This gesture continues Modi’s tradition of engaging with regional leaders, similar to his initiatives in 2014 and 2019.

Political Reactions and Election Results
Congress leader KC Venugopal noted that the opposition had not received details about the ceremony. In the recent elections, the BJP won 240 seats, with the NDA coalition securing 292 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. The Congress party, as part of the INDIA bloc, won 99 seats, preventing the BJP from gaining a majority on its own.
