Delhi Police has also banned flying of paragliders, 'hang-gliders' and 'hot air balloons' in the skies of the national capital till August 16 for security reasons in view of Independence Day.
Delhi Police has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure around areas like Rajghat, ITO and Red Fort in view of Independence Day. Police said on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), “Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been implemented in Rajghat, ITO, areas around Red Fort in view of Independence Day celebrations. No gathering of people is allowed in these areas.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on Independence Day on August 15 from the Red Fort.
In view of Independence Day celebrations, Section 144 CrPC has been invoked in areas nearby Rajghat, ITO, Red-fort etc.

Paragliders, drones banned till August 16
Earlier, in view of Independence Day, Delhi Police has banned flying of paragliders, ‘hang-gliders’ and ‘hot air balloons’ etc. in the skies of the national capital till August 16 for security reasons.
Therefore, the Commissioner of Delhi Police has prohibited the flying of such objects in the national capital on the occasion of Independence Day and any violation of the same would attract Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code, the order said.
