In a recent encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, a police constable and a Maoist lost their lives during an anti-Maoist operation. The incident unfolded in the Hidur forest near Chhotebethiya police station, where a joint security team acted on specific intelligence regarding the presence of Maoists.
Constable Ramesh Kurethi, a member of the Bastar Fighters unit within the state police, tragically lost his life in the gunfire exchange. The operation resulted in the recovery of a Maoist’s body along with an AK-47 rifle at the encounter site.
