Amritsar (Punjab): Security forces on Sunday shot down a six-winged drone near the India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab’s Amritsar and seized 5 kg of heroin. Officials said that two people were also arrested in this connection when they tried to escape. According to the Punjab Police, at around 4 am, a joint patrol party of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Amritsar Police heard the sound of a drone and shot it down in Lopoke area of ​​Kakkar village and seized 5 kg of heroin.

The Punjab DGP said in a tweet, “In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Police, in a joint operation with BSF, has recovered and shot down a 6-winged drone after firing and recovered 5 kg of heroin from Kakkar village.” seized, which is 2 km from the international border with Pakistan.

The DGP said that drone parts are made in America and China. He said, “Two people have been arrested with a total of 12 rounds fired from the AK-47. The recovered drone has been assembled, whose parts are manufactured in the US and China. ,

Earlier on January 19, two people were arrested after a drone was caught on the Indo-Pak border in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. BSF seized about 6.150 kg of heroin, while 3 other persons managed to escape.

According to the police, all the smugglers caught in smuggling so far are residents of Punjab. In one such incident from Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, two were caught on charges of smuggling heroin from Pakistan to India through drones. This incident is of 15 January. Drones smuggle drugs and ammunition into India from Pakistan.

In another incident, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday seized four Chinese-made pistols along with a consignment of weapons dropped by a Pakistani drone in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. A consignment of 4 Chinese-made pistols, eight magazines and 47 live rounds was recovered from Uncha Takla village of Gurdaspur on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. (ANI)
