Mumbai: The trailer for the upcoming movie “Selfiee” was released on Sunday, which Star Studios posted to its YouTube site. Akshay Kumar was depicted as a “superstar” and Emraan Hashmi, a police officer, as his “greatest admirer” in the almost three-minute-long video. Emraan says his son and he want to take a selfie with their “idol.” He even threatens to divorce his wife, Nushrratt Bharuccha, if she speaks negatively about Akshay.
However, things turn sour when Akshay and Emraan Hashmi start to argue over (of all things) Akshay’s driver’s licence. While Emraan claims he will have to obtain the licence like an “ordinary man,” Akshay says he will get the licence anyhow. The trailer included scenes of fun and action.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Akshay wrote on Sunday, “Iss kahaani ka villain toh pata nahi par hero #elfiee hai (I don’t know the villain of his story, but the hero is the Selfiee! Watch Selfiee trailer now. Selfiee releasing only in cinemas on February 24th.
Akshay and Emraan have worked jointly for the first time in the upcoming masala movie. Selfiee, directed by Raj Mehta, is scheduled to hit theatres on February 24. Selfiee is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License.
On the work front, Emraan is set to be portrayed as a negative character opposite Salman Khan in Yash Raj Film’s Tiger 3. The official announcement of the characters of the film has not been made yet.
Akshay, will be spotted in OMG: Oh My God 2; in the action-packed thriller movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Tiger Shroff; and in the official Hindi remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru.
