Seven UP roadways buses damaged after two Kanwarias killed in an accident

Bijnor: Seven UP roadways buses were attacked by the Kanwarias after the death of two devotees in an accident that occurred near Neelikhedi village on Monday morning. The victims have been identified as Gaurav Kumar (17) and Rahul Kumar (22).

Both were residents of Kalyanpur under the Katghar police station of Moradabad. The deceased were returning after fetching Gangajal from Garh Mukteshwar on their bike when a bus hit them.

Police said they were driving on the wrong side of the road. Following the accident, a huge crowd, including many kanwarias, gathered on National Highway-9 and started stone pelting and using sticks to damage other buses. Extra cops were called immediately to bring the situation under control. The mob dragged out the bus driver and thrashed him badly.

According to Amroha SP Aditya Langeh, based on a complaint filed by the victims’ families, a case has been registered against the bus driver under relevant sections of the IPC. “We are also trying to identify the kanwarias who were involved in damaging the buses,” Langeh added.

In another incident that took place in UP’s Muzaffarnagar, one kanwar died and the other was seriously injured when a tempo hit the kanwar’s bike on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the Chhapar area on Monday.

As per the Chhapar police station SHO, Ashutosh Kumar, both the kanwarias, identified as Saurabh Kumar and Yogesh Kumar, are residents of Shiv Durga Vihar, Lakkarpur in Faridabad. They were going to Haridwar to obtain water from the Ganga at that moment when the accident occurred. “A case against the tempo driver has been registered to arrest him,” the SHO added.
