A group of senior leaders, including former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, once again rejoined the party fold on Friday. Apart from Chand, the other noted faces returning to Congress are former minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Muzaffar Parray, Balwan Singh, and so on.

Chand and Balwan Singh were considered loyalists to Ghulam Nabi Azad, so they left the Congress and joined the Democratic Azad Party (DAP).

But such leaders never remain happy in any party. They always try to weaken their own party. The same game they played with Ghulam Azad. Therefore, Azad expelled such leaders last month from his party for their anti-party activities.

After joining the former leaders, AICC general secretary in charge of the organisation KC Venugopal, said during a press conference that this is a great day for Congress. In the press briefing, AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh and the in-charge of the state, Rajani Patil, were also present.
