This incident has come to the fore when the airline is also facing protests in South Korea for canceling flights and refusing to refund money. According to a report by Korea Economic Daily, Korea Consumer Agency has received 329 consultations related to Vietjet Air from January to March this year.
“Between 11.30 pm and 5 am, till the time they brought us back to the immigration area, no food or water was provided to the stranded passengers,” he said, adding that there is still no clarity about an alternative flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
The report states that in the first quarter of 2023 itself, there has been a jump of 127 percent in complaints regarding Vietjet Air. At the same time, from June 2021, the airline is offering credit points to customers in lieu of canceled tickets. Interestingly, this is the offer if the airline itself cancels the ticket. But if the customer cancels the ticket himself, he will have to pay 45,000 won ($40) per person instead.
Not only this, the report states that the credit points received by the customers will expire within 1 to 2 years and cannot be transferred. Overall, the loss in every aspect is of the customers only.
