Mumbai: Surrounded by the biggest controversy ever, actress Shilpa Shetty finally gathers confidence to talk about her husband Raj Kundra’s arrest in connection with the production and distribution of pornographic content case. The actress has released a statement on social media and revealed that lot of rumours and accusations are being attributed to her.
“Yes! The past few days have been challenging, on every front. There have been a lot of rumours and accusations. A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well wishers as well. A lot of trolling/questions posed… not only to me but also to my family. MY STAND… I HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf,” she shared on her Instagram handle.
Though, very few celebrities have so far lend any kind of support or even have openly spoken about the controversial matter, but they have for sure supported Shilpa’s post as it was liked by Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Dia Mirza, Farah Khan Kunder and Rakul Preet Singh among others.
Applauding Shilpa for coming out strong, Gauahar Khan wrote, “strength” with folded hands emojis on Shilpa’s post. While Abhimanyu Dassani, who is Shilpa Shetty’s co-star in the upcoming movie ‘Nikamma’, also extended support to the actress and commented on her post with raised hands.
The 46-year-old actress in her statement, had further expressed complete faith in the Mumbai Police and the judiciary. She also mentioned that she is taking all legal options available and asked for privacy of her children, “Reiterating my philosophy of, as a celebrity “Never complain, never explain”. All I will say is, as it’s an on-going investigation, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police & the Indian judiciary. As a family, we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies. But, till then I humbly request you – especially as a MOTHER – to respect our privacy for my children’s sake and request you to refrain from commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same. I am a proud law-abiding Indian citizen and a hardworking professional for the last 29 years. People have put their faith in ME & I’ve never let anyone down. For the unversed, Mumbai Police crime branch on July 19 arrested Raj Kundra in connection with a case filed against him for allegedly making pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. The case was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act at the Malwani police station on February 4, 2021.
As per reports, property cell officials of Mumbai Police received a tip off about shooting of porn videos at a rented bungalow in Madh Village of Malad West. API Laxmikant Salunkhe raided the place while the shooting of a porn video was going on.
Preliminary enquiry has revealed that the accused owned mobile application ‘Hothit Movies’ wherein such porn videos are uploaded. Subscribers have to download the app and pay to view the videos on their devices. The company owns few more such mobile application.
