Jaipur: In a bizarre incident, a JCB machine collided with a Shiva temple in Karauli, Rajasthan, on Tuesday while working on an excavation task nearby for sewer construction.
The temple collapsed as a result of the collision, and during the time of the accident, several women were inside the premises of the temple, where they were praying and got stuck under the debris.
When the police squad arrived at the scene, the rescue work got underway with the help of the locals. Four women were trapped under the rubble. They were recovered and sent to a nearby hospital. The condition of some of them is serious. Meanwhile, more people are feared to be buried under the debris.
Clearance work has been going on near the area.
After the collapse of the temple, locals gathered there with curiosity to learn the facts. With the arrival of the police, everything settled down. The atmosphere is absolutely peaceful. Apart from this, the locals helped the cops clear the debris to bring out the stuck women safely.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has been working for several months on the construction of drains in the Sapotra Market.
