New Delhi: There is big news for the passengers traveling by flight. Now air travel is going to be expensive. According to officials with knowledge of the department, the civil aviation ministry has increased the domestic airfares maximum and minimum limits by 12.5 percent. The ministry has increased the fare on lower and upper caps from 9.83 to 12.82 percent.
Increasing capacity of domestic airlines
In fact, when services were resumed on May 25, 2020 after a two-month lockdown due to coronavirus, last year the government imposed limits on domestic airfares. But now that the situation is gradually returning to normal, then airline companies are flying with more capacity. The government has allowed domestic airlines to fly with more capacity because now the movement of people is increasing, so the demand is also increasing. At present, the flight capacity of airline companies has increased from 65 per cent to 72.5 per cent.
