At least two civilians, including a Sikh man and a Muslim security guard, were killed after unidentified assailants attacked Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Afghanistan’s Kabul city on Saturday. After the blast, some shops attached to the gurudwara caught fire. According to media reports, 25-30 Afghan Hindus and Sikhs were present in the gurdwara for morning prayers and as soon as the attackers entered the premises, about 10-15 of them managed to escape. The rest are either trapped inside or there is a possibility of their death.
Even before this last year, this gurudwara (Karte Parwan Gurdwara) was targeted by 15 to 20 terrorists. The responsibility of this attack has been taken by the ISKP faction of the terrorist organization Islamic State. ISKP has said that this attack has been done in response to the derogatory statements made by BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal on the Prophet.
