Aftab confessed to hiding all the evidence related to Shraddha. He destroyed three photographs of Shraddha found in the house after killing her. The police have also recovered Shraddha’s bag from Aftab’s Chhatarpur flat, along with some of her clothes and shoes.

Aftab’s ‘Narco’ or narcoanalysis test will be done after the arrival of the Forensic Science Laboratory team on the request of Delhi Police.

Police had initially recovered 8 to 10 bones which were sent for forensic examination. The important place involved in the investigation of the police is the flat of Aftab Poonawala located in Chhatarpur, where both of them were living before the murder. Another important location included in the police investigation is near the call center in Gurugram where Aftab was last working.

Police has been searching in the forest every day for the last three days. Today the police came out of Aftab’s flat with two big black plastic bags.

The next few days are crucial regarding the police investigation, as Aftab’s custody is ending on Wednesday and important evidence in this case has not been found yet.

Police had recovered sharp instruments used for cutting from Aftab’s flat yesterday. Police suspect that these tools might have been used to cut Shraddha Walkar’s body. A day before, the police had also found a black big polythene bag at Aftab’s work place in Gurgaon.

Sources say the six-month-old murder probe rests on forensic reports, call data and circumstantial evidence as there are no witnesses.

Police said that Shraddha and Aftab had come to Delhi in May. Four days later, there was an argument between the two over expenses and infidelity, and then Aftab strangled Shraddha to death. Later Aftab cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces and kept them in the fridge. Then he gradually threw the pieces of the dead body in the forest in 18 days.
