Bengaluru: Police sub-inspector (PSI) recruitment scam has hit the headlines in Karnataka, which led to the arrest of IPS officer Amrit Paul and other officials for their role in the recruitment scam.
Opposition leaders lashed out at the state government. On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah, leader of the opposition in the Karnataka assembly, demanded the resignation of state home minister Araga Jnanendra.
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested Paul for his involvement in the scam on Monday.
Siddaramaiah further alleged that Jnanendra is also responsible for this scam and urged chief minister Basavaraj Bommai to sack him from the cabinet.
Only officials should not be made the scapegoat in the PSI recruitment scam. Home minister Araga Jnanendra is equally responsible, along with the officials. Siddaramaiah once again reiterated his intention to sack the state home minister from the cabinet.
The Karnataka government has suspended Amrit Paul, an IAS officer, J Manjunath. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a bureaucrat in a bribery case.
Meanwhile, Jnanendra informed that the CID had arrested the main accused of the PSI scam, BJP leader Divya Hagaragi, and four others in the case. Divya, who was absconding in the case, was arrested in Pune.
However, chief minister Bommai had said, “Our government exposed the case.” “All the powers have been given to the CID to probe the case and spare not a single culprit.” The ADGP was arrested for his involvement in the scam.
