Sidhu MooseWala murder case: Accused in Moosewala murder case escapes from Punjab Police custody

New Delhi: An accused arrested in connection with the murder of late Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Musewala has escaped from the custody of the police. A senior Punjab police officer, on conditions of anonymity, confirmed that Bishnoi's aide, Deepak Tinu, has escaped.

New Delhi: An accused arrested in connection with the murder of late Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Musewala has escaped from the custody of the police. A senior Punjab police officer, on conditions of anonymity, confirmed that Bishnoi’s aide, Deepak Tinu, has escaped. The Punjab police had brought him on transit remand from the Tihar jail in Delhi on July 4 in the Moose Wala murder case. Deepak had to be questioned in the killing.

According to media reports, the accused shooter Tinu, who shot Sidhu Musewala, was a sharp shooter of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He escaped from the custody of Mansa police at 3 pm. According to reports, the team of Mansa CIA staff was bringing him on remand from Kapurthala jail. During this, he escaped by dodging the police team.

Earlier, in September, the police had even revealed that one of the accused in Moose Wala case had carried out a recce in Mumbai to target Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Two days ago, the Special Cell of Punjab Police arrested two main shooters of a gang involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. According to the police, the accused were identified as Mandeep Singh alias Toofan (24) resident of Batala and Manpreet Singh alias Mani Raiya (30), resident of Amritsar, Punjab Police for murder, dacoity, extortion, drug and arms smuggling. He was wanted in various cases.

At the same time, three absconding sharp shooters involved in the Sidhu Musewala murder case were arrested from West Bengal. DGP Punjab said that Deepak alias Mundi and his associates Kapil Pandit and Rajendra alias Joker were arrested as part of a joint operation between the Special Cell of Punjab and Delhi Police with the help of central agencies.

The DGP informed, “Deepak, Pandit and Rajinder have been arrested today by the AGTF (Anti-Gangster Task Force) team in the culmination of an intelligence-based operation on the West Bengal-Nepal border. Deepak was the shooter in the Bolero module, Pandit and Rajinder had provided him logistical support including arms and hideout.”

Delhi Police has arrested 3 sharpshooters Priyavart Fauji, Ankit Sersa and Kashish alias Kuldeep involved in the Sidhu Musewala murder case while two shooters were killed in the encounter. Sidhu Musewala was shot dead on May 29, 2022 in Mansa district of Punjab. On August 25, the police had filed a 1850-page chargesheet in the Musewala murder case. The names of 24 out of total 36 accused have been given in this chargesheet. According to the chargesheet, notorious Canadian-based criminal Goldie Brar was the main conspirator in the murder of Musewala and had taken the help of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and some others to carry out the incident.
