Simranjit Singh Mann triggers controversy by calling to boycott ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign

Amritsar: Shiromani Akali Dal chief Simranjit Singh Mann’s call to boycott the Centre’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has triggered a controversy.

The SAD MP from Punjab’s Sangrur started a new controversy when he persuaded people to boycott the Tiranga campaign and instead encouraged them to hoist the Nishan Sahib on August 14-15 at homes and offices.

He further added that Sikhs are independent and a different community. He went on to say that the Indian forces as the forces of the “enemy.” He praised “Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale” (slain Khalistani terrorist) and called him a martyr.

In a video message, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a terrorist who represents the outlawed Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), provokes the people of Punjab to burn the tricolour and to hoist the Khalistani flag on Independence Day.

The BJP and AAP criticise Simranjit Singh Mann and Pannun. AAP Spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang hit out at the leaders and said that boycotting the tricolour showed their true character.

“One should not take his words seriously as thousands of Punjabis sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country and tricolour. We always respect the national flag, “Malwinder Singh Kang said.” ”

One of the SAD leaders, Dr Daljit Cheema, said that the Indian flag belongs to everyone and that the people of Punjab are proud of it.

BJP leader Vineet Joshi lashed out at Gurpatwant Singh Panun and said people don’t think about Khalistan and know the value of peace.
