Delhi Liquor Policy Case : The High Court on Thursday reserved its verdict on the bail plea of former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, accused in the liquor scam. However, he has been allowed to talk to his ailing wife. The court has ordered the Jail Superintendent to ensure the time of conversation with the wife through video call between 3 pm to 4 pm as per the jail manual. Let us tell you that the health of the wife was cited for bail on behalf of Manish Sisodia.
Asked for bail citing wife’s health
In fact, former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has moved the Delhi High Court for interim bail citing medical grounds for his wife’s health. On Wednesday, the court had issued a notice to the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) in this matter. On April 25, Seema Sisodia, wife of Manish Sisodia, lodged in Tihar Jail in the Delhi liquor scam case, was admitted to Apollo Hospital after her health suddenly deteriorated.
Sisodia is currently in judicial custody in cases registered by the CBI and the ED. The special judge had on March 31 denied him bail in the case registered by the CBI. Recently, even in the ED case, he could not get bail. Let us inform that CBI arrested Manish Sisodia on February 26, 2023, on charges of alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy. Since then he is lodged in Tihar Jail.
