On Tuesday, There is no indication what happened to the two widely used Mi-8 helicopters.
The men were “carrying out a mission” in the Russian-held sector of the eastern town of Bakhmut when they were killed, a military statement on Telegram said.
According to the information, the incident occurred near Kramatorsk – a large town west of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, the theater of most of the fighting in Russia’s 18-month invasion of its neighbor.
The information futher said thar two helicopters were “completely destroyed” and bodies were found at the scene.
An air force spokesman, identified as Yevhen Rakita, told public broadcaster Saspilne that the people on board the plane were officers.
He said a service for the men would be held Thursday in the central city of Poltava but their identities were not being made public for security reasons.
