There are speculations circulating in newspapers and on TV channels about Delhi’s lowest temperature falling below zero. This is a false prediction, probably made to garner attention. Please don’t believe in such baseless rumours. The weather service said that the ongoing Western Disturbance (WD) is moving eastward, the weather agency wrote in a tweet.

“Icy cold winds from the north have already commenced over Rajasthan and Gujarat, resulting in a reduction in minimum and maximum temperatures,” it stated. On January 14 and 15, temperatures in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, and west Madhya Pradesh could drop.

It was claimed that it is possible that Delhi’s temperature may drop 3–4 degrees between January 16 and 18. However, don’t create panic because it is not going below 0 degrees in any way, further adding that isolated areas are expected to experience a minimum temperature of around 2 degrees.

Several northern states have been warned by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) that another cold wave may appear in the next few hours. Fresh snowfall in Himachal Pradesh’s Manali and Jammu and Kashmir has started, which has been enticing tourists to visit such destinations.
