Guwahati: The hard-hitting South African batter David Miller discussed the terrifying snake incident in length and breadth. The scary snake episode halted play during the second T20I match between India and South Africa on Sunday, played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

The coin landed on the ground in favour of South Africa, and skipper Temba Bavuma, without any hesitation, put India to bat first. The Indian openers got things going quickly. But in the seventh over of the match, a snake was spotted on the ground, which sparked a lot of excitement and terror on the field and forced the match to stop the play. The ground staff had to intervene and escort the snake off the ground to continue the game.

Miller, South Africa’s hero with the bat that day who scored a masterful century but whose side lost in the end, stated during the post-match press conference that we had no control over such a situation.

And then there was the issue with the snake as well. So I mean, there was a lot going on today. “But yeah, I mean, it did give us a little bit of time just to breathe and just to think about what we needed to do,” said Miller.

The play was halted twice in yesterday’s match due to an emerging of snake on the field as well as the failure of floodlights during the South African’s innings.
