Snake venom case: Famous YouTuber Elvish Yadav arrested by Noida Police

Mumbai: On Sunday, YouTuber Elvish Yadav was arrested by Noida Police, who is accused of providing snake venom at a suspected rave party in Noida of Uttar Pradesh. Elvish Yadav was called for questioning by the police today, after which he was arrested and will be presented in court today.

On Sunday afternoon, DCP Noida Vidya Sagar Mishra said,“Noida Police arrests YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav. He will be presented in the Court today.” The case pertains to the police raids at a Noida party in November 2023 during which police find snake venom used for intoxication by the guests.

Earlier, Forensic reports had confirmed the presence of snake venom in samples collected from the party held at a banquet hall in Noida’s Sector 51 on November 3 last year. As per the reports, Elvish Yadav was present in the party and is accused of supplying the snake venom to the party.

The YouTuber has denied all the allegations and even threatened to file defamation charges in the case. Elvish Yadav and six others were charged with provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and IPC Section 120A (criminal conspiracy).

Earlier, Though Elvish was questioned, the police had not arrested the former Bigg Boss contestant. The 26-year-old YouTuber was not present at the party, but according to the police, allegedly provided venom for the event.

After police raids, the social media was abuzz with videos of Elvish Yadav with snakes and users demanding the arrest of the YouTuber. Police had rescued nine snakes, including five cobras, from the possession of the accused on November 3.

According to the Prime Investigations, the police revealed that the venom glands were missing in all nine snakes. Elvish had rejected the accusations dubbing them “baseless, fake and not even 1 per cent true”.
