Social media influencer Sapna Gill files a complaint against Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw for allegedly outraging her modesty

New Delhi: The spat between social media influencer Sapna Gill and cricketer Prithvi Shaw doesn’t seem to be ending yet. A social media influencer on Monday filed a complaint at the Mumbai Airport Police Station against the 23-year-old cricketer and his friend Ashish Yadav, whose car’s windshield was broken during the selfie brawl. After getting bail from the magistrate, Sapna Gill filed a case against the cricketer as soon as he came out of the custody of Mumbai Police.

The Oshiwara police had registered a case against eight people for vandalizing Prithvi Shaw’s friend’s car. One of them was Sapna Gill. He alleged that the Indian cricketer and his friend had instigated him. The controversy erupted when Prithvi Shaw allegedly refused to take a selfie during dinner at a hotel in Mumbai.

Sapna Gill filed a case under these 10 sections
Sapna Gill has filed a case against Prithvi Shaw under sections 34, 120B, 146, 148, 149, 323, 324, 351, 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In her bail application filed through advocate Kashif Ali Khan, Sapna Gill claimed that the FIR against her has been registered on “completely false and fabricated allegations”. “The statements in the FIR are fabricated and without any basis and the applicant (Gill) is being implicated in the aforesaid case,” the bail plea argued.

Opposing the bail pleas, public prosecutor Aatiya Shaikh, appearing for the police, said the investigation in the matter was yet to be completed. He argued that the accused had followed Shaw to “revenge” as he had refused to take a selfie with them. The prosecutor said that they could have even killed the 23-year-old cricketer. The incident took place last week outside a hotel in suburban Shantacruz.
