Sourav Ganguly confirms IPL 2023 to resume its home-and-away format 

The IPL will resume its home and away format in 2023 after the mega event has been staged at selected venues due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the last three years.

Kolkata: The Indian Premier League will resume its home and away format in 2023 after the mega event has been staged at selected venues due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the last three years. The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) president confirmed the development in a letter sent to the board’s state units.

However, with the COVID-19 case under control, the BCCI has been planning to host the IPL in the home and away format. Each team will get an opportunity to play one half of their group-stage matches at home, and then every team will have to play the next half of matches away from home.

“The next season of the men’s IPL will be held in a home and away format. “All ten teams playing need to play their home matches at their designated venues,” Ganguly said 

IPL for women in 2023

The BCCI has been mulling hosting the first edition of the much-anticipated Women’s IPL early next year. The women’s IPL is expected to be held before the beginning of the men’s edition. Several IPL franchise owners have shown interest in owning teams in the women’s IPL.
