South Korea: At least nine people died, four were injured and 15 others were missing on Monday when a fire broke out in a lithium battery factory near Seoul, the capital of South Korea. According to reports, one person was reported dead and four others were injured in the fire that broke out at the factory in Hwaseong city, south of Seoul.

According to reports, local fire official Kim Jin-young told a televised briefing that rescue workers later retrieved eight more bodies from the factory. The death toll could rise further. Kim had earlier said that most of the missing people were foreign nationals, including Chinese citizens.

He said that the mobile phones of the missing people were found to be coming from the second floor of the signal factory. The fire has been controlled to a great extent. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Kim said that a total of 102 people were working in the factory at the time of the fire.
