Special Vande Bharat Train for Diwali and Chhath Puja on Delhi-Patna Route

During the festival season, Indian Railways will operate 283 festival special trains, amounting to a total of 4,480 trips.

Special Vande Bharat Train for Diwali and Chhath Puja on Delhi-Patna Route

Indian Railways is responding to increased festive season demand by running the fully reservation-based Patna-New Delhi Special Vande Bharat Express for a total of six journeys. In addition to the previously announced 283 festival special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw disclosed that these special trains will make a total of 4,480 trips during the festive period.

According to Deepak Kumar, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northern Railways, the Vande Bharat Express with train number 02252, traveling from New Delhi to Patna Junction, will depart at 7:25 AM and arrive in Patna the same evening at 7:00 PM. This special service will be available on November 11, 14, and 16. The return trip, Train number 02251 from Patna Junction to New Delhi, will operate on November 12, 15, and 17. It will depart from Patna Junction at 7:00 AM and reach New Delhi at 7:00 PM, making stops at various stations along the route.

For the AC Chair Car coach from New Delhi (NDLS) to Patna (PNBE), the fare is set at ₹2355, and for the AC Executive Chair Car coach, it’s ₹4410.

Indian Railways also announced that the Eastern Central Railway will operate 42 trains, making a maximum of 512 trips, while the Western Railway will operate 36 trains and make a maximum of 1,262 trips during the festival season.

Previously, in 2022, Indian Railways had planned 2614 trips of 216 Puja Special trains, connecting major destinations across the country on various railway routes. The North Western Railway is set to manage a total of 24 trains, amounting to 1,208 trips to meet the travel demand during the festive season.

The Railway Board has recommended that the railway zones instruct their ticket-checking personnel to verify the authenticity of passengers by checking valid and authorized proof of identity.
