The India Premier League (IPL) is the most famous cricket league in the world. The involvement of top players from around the globe, crazy fans’ predictions before the match, a huge viewership and the support they give to their favourite players and teams really make the IPL absorbent.
The mouth-watering matches of the 15th edition of the IPL are underway. All the 10 teams are eager to play their best possible cricket to attract team officials and national team selectors as well.
SRH takes on RR
In today’s match, Sunrise Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR). Remember, RR emerged as champions in the inaugural IPL in 2008. It would be the first outing between the two teams.
In this edition of the IPL, a total of 74 matches will be played in 65 days, and the grand finale is to be played on May 29.
Both the teams, SRH and RR, are gearing up to play a resounding game at the MCA stadium in Pune with a positive frame of mind. SRH and RR have several young and talented players. Cricket fans are certainly looking forward to today’s enthralling match.
Various teams have appointed new captains for IPL 2022. But Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) didn’t take any leave from that team’s books. Therefore, both teams kept faith in their old captains. They stuck with their previous leaders, Kane Williamson and Sanju Samsom.
Both captains are busy making their teams more stable and consistent to take their respective teams far away in this tournament.
SRH wants to wipe out its 2021 performance
SRH likes to improve its performance. Last year, the team was eliminated early. Time has come for Williamson and his boys to leave the disappointment behind and play better cricket to improve their performance. Veteran batsman Williamson knows all the tricks and how to marshall the troops.
Warner and Rashid have left SRH.
In this edition of the IPL, David Warner and Rashid Khan are not part of the team. But the SRH captain has to manage with the limited resources. Both the senior players left the team, but the team is still replete with talented players. As a unit, they can upset anyone.
Along with Williamson, Nicholas Pooran (w), Aiden Markram, Washington Sundar, and so on, are the well-known faces in contemporary cricket. They have the ability to change the match within a few overs. It’s exciting to watch youngsters such as T Natarajan, Umran Malik, and Marco Jansen.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have a superb batting line-up and their experienced attack can demolish any batting side. Saju Samson needs to be careful on the ground and never underestimate SRH at any cost.
Samson needs to be careful
Besides the hard-hitting batsman, Samson, other players like Jos Buttler, James Neesham, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, and Prasidh Krishna are the classical players. They have vast experience of international cricket. At least on paper, Sanju Samson’s team looks well balanced. It would be a daunting task for any opponent to easily overcome RR.
Mouth watering match on the card
Whatever the outcome of the match may be, it is difficult to predict. The bookies seem to have put their money on the Rajasthan Royals. This team looks more competent. Cricket is a funny game where everything is possible.
It would be a mistake for any team to take SRH lightly. But one would expect that cricket fans will get a chance to watch some breathtaking batting, bowling, and fielding in the shortest formats of the game.
