According to the US Geological Survey, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck off the Pacific coast of El Salvador.
The ministry said there were no immediate reports of damage from the quake.
Apart from this, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake has also occurred off the coast of Central America region.
