Mumbai: At a recent event, actor Suniel Shetty has said that Bollywood is not replete with ‘druggies”. The actor attended an event organised by the CBI on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. He spoke at length regarding the drug cases against the celebrities and star kids being quizzed on drug-related matters.
Speaking on the occasion, Suniel raised the question of why celebrities were being targeted and treated like ‘drug addicts’. He said, “Ek galti kardo toh chor hai, dakait hai.” “Main 30 saal se industry mein hun aur 300 dost hain, mere jinhone zindagi mein kabhi kuch kia nahi hai. ”
The actor, known for his hit movie ‘Hera Pheri’, further said, “Bollywood is not filled with druggies.” Galtiyan hum karte hain unhe bhi bachchon ki tarah dekh ke maaf kijiyega. He also spoke about the #BoycottBollywood trend and said, “#BoycottBollywood #BollywoodDruggies vaisa hai nahi.”
Recently, police detained Shraddha Kapoor’s brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, for consuming drugs at a rave party in Bengaluru. Later, he was granted bail. Earlier, Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shahrukh Khan, was detained by NCB in a cruise ship drug case. His case hit the headlines across the country. Aryan was kept in custody for almost a month but was released on bail later. Aryan had gotten a clean chit recently.
