Supreme Court may consider interim bail of Arvind Kejriwal, next hearing on May 7

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday said it may consider granting interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), in view of the Lok Sabha elections. During this, the Supreme Court said that we have yet to decide on this.

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta which heard his petition challenging the arrest in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam case noted that the hearing may not be over on the next date too and said that it may in that case consider the question of interim bail.

The Supreme Court will hear the interim bail of Arvind Kejriwal on May 7. The Supreme Court will consider his interim bail due to the elections. The Supreme Court asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to also explain the conditions of interim bail in the next hearing. We have yet to decide whether to grant interim bail or not.

The Supreme Court said that we will hear on Tuesday at 10.30 am. The court said that if this case continues for a long time then we will consider interim bail.

The Supreme Court also asked the ED to answer another question, can Kejriwal sign official files from jail? Justice Khanna told ED, we are not saying anything today, but we can ask, be ready on Tuesday.

Let us tell you that the next hearing in this case will be on Tuesday i.e. 7th May. The Supreme Court said that this case may take time, but if the case takes time then we can consider interim bail due to elections.

The court said that we can hear you (ED) on this. Tell us what conditions will be imposed if we grant interim bail? The Supreme Court said that we still have to decide on this and have a hearing on Tuesday.
