Swati Maliwal case: Delhi Police seizes CCTV DVR from CM residence, also took printer-laptop for investigation

Swati Maliwal case: Delhi Police’s investigation is ongoing in the case of assault on Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal inside the CM residence. Meanwhile, a team of Delhi Police also reached the CM residence on Sunday and confiscated the CCTV DVR from there and took it with them….

Only yesterday the police had collected the CCTV footage. According to police sources, footage of the time of the incident has not been found. Police are also saying that Bibhav is not cooperating in the investigation.

Earlier on Saturday, Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava, appearing for Delhi Police, while arguing on the custody of Vibhav Kumar, told the court, ‘We asked for the DVR, it was given in a pen drive…the footage was found blank. The iPhone has been given to the police, but now the accused is not telling the password. The phone has been formatted. Additional Public Prosecutor said that the accused was present at the scene of the incident. Delhi Police suspects that CCTV has been tampered with.

According to sources, Delhi Police will take Vibhav to Mumbai during his five-day remand. It is alleged that Vibhav formatted the phone there. Police hope that Vibhav may have dumped the data of the phone before formatting it. Dumped data can be found if you go to the place in Mumbai where the phone has been formatted.

According to the police, if there is nothing to hide then people usually save the data before formatting the phone. However, the police will also try to recover the data with the help of forensic experts. Apart from this, the police will also take Vibhav to the crime spot i.e. CM residence, where they will try to find out the reason for the fight.

According to the FIR lodged by Swati Maliwal, she had reached CM Arvind Kejriwal’s house on the morning of 13 May to meet him. She first went to the CM’s camp office. After this he called CM’s PS Vibhav Kumar, but the conversation did not take place.

He also sent a WhatsApp message to Vibhav’s mobile number, but did not receive any reply. After this, as usual, she went to CM Kejriwal’s house through the main door. There she was asked to sit in the drawing room and was told that the Chief Minister was present in the house and he would come to meet her soon. But before the CM could come to him, his PS Vibhav Kumar stormed into the room and without any provocation started abusing him.
