In the first match of the tournament played on Sunday, America registered a one-sided victory by defeating neighboring country Canada by 7 wickets. The hero of America's victory was Aaron Jones, who played an unbeaten inning of 94 runs in 40 balls.

T20 World Cup 1st Match: Co-host United States of America (USA) has made a bang in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. In the first match of the tournament played on Sunday, America registered a one-sided victory by defeating neighboring country Canada by 7 wickets. The hero of America’s victory was Aaron Jones, who played an unbeaten inning of 94 runs in 40 balls.

In this match played on June 2 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, America won the toss and decided to bowl. After which Canada, batting first, put 194 runs on the score board at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. On behalf of the team, Navneet Dhaliwal scored the highest score of 61 runs and Nicholas Kirton scored 51 runs. For America, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh and Corey Anderson took one wicket each, while two batsmen were run out.

After this, the US team, which came to chase the huge target of 195 runs in the second innings, had a very poor start. In the very first over, opening batsman Steven Taylor returned to the pavilion without opening his account. After this, captain Monank Patel was also out after scoring 16 runs, but Andries Goos and Aaron Jones together handled America’s innings. During this, there was a partnership of 131 runs between the two on 58 balls.

In this match against Canada, Jones played fast and completed his half-century in 22 balls, which is the fastest half-century for America. Gaus was out after scoring 63 runs. But Jones remained at the crease till the end and played an unbeaten inning of 94 runs, leading the team to victory by 7 wickets.
