This series proved to be a super hit. Its second season also proved to be a super duper hit. After the success of ‘Arya’, Sushmita is now coming up with a new series. Sushmita is seen as a transgender in the new web show ‘Taali’. The teaser of the series has been released.

Sushmita Sen is once again ready to show her shocking avatar on OTT. In the teaser of Taali, the actress is seen in the role of transgender activist Gauri Sawant. The teaser begins with a powerful dialogue. Sushmita playing the role of Gauri says- ‘I am Gauri. Whom some call a eunuch, some a social worker. Some call it drama, some call it a game changer. This is the story of this journey. From cursing to clapping. People who are afraid to show their reality. They never win, Babu. Self-respect, respect, freedom, I want all these three.

Sharing the teaser of the film, Sushmita Sen took to Instagram and wrote, “Gaali se Taali tak ke safar ki yeh kahaani. Presenting the story of Shreegauri Sawant’s fight for India’s third gender. #TaaliOnJioCinema streaming free 15 Aug.”

Who is Shreegauri Sawant?
Gauri Sawant was the first transgender to file a petition in the Supreme Court of India for the adoption rights of transgender people. Born as Ganesh in Pune, she became the goodwill ambassador of the Election Commission in Maharashtra and was the petitioner in the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) case.

In 2008, she adopted a girl named Gayatri after her mother succumbed to AIDS. Gauri went on to feature in a Vicks ad that depicted her story and her adoption journey.
