Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Tuesday registered a case against ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ producer Asit Kumar Modi, operations head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj on the complaint of an actor of the show. The Powai police have registered an FIR under sections 354 and 509 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Although the police have not arrested anyone yet.
Last month, an actor lodged a complaint against producer Asit Kumar Modi and two other crew members.
Mumbai Police said, “Powai police recorded the actor’s statement in connection with allegations of sexual harassment against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi and two other members of his team. Police will soon record Asit Kumar Modi’s statement.” Will summon for.”
However, Asit Modi has denied the allegations and called them baseless. He also claimed to take legal action against the actor for trying to defame him. According to the Mumbai Police, they had received a written complaint from the actor.
Police said, “The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress has filed a written complaint against a producer alleging sexual harassment. According to her complaint, she was sexually harassed by producer Asit Modi and some crew members. We are investigating started.”
The three accused have issued an official statement denying all the allegations, saying that the actor’s allegation is motivated by vendetta, as his contract with the production house was terminated.
