Chennai: Veteran Tamil actor Raghu Balaiah AKA Junior Balaiah, son of TS Balaiah, passed away in the wee hours on November 2, 2023. He died of sudden asphyxiation at at 1:30 a.m at his residence in Chennai’s Valasaravakkam. According to reports, his funeral is said to be held today evening. Soon after the news about his demise broke, fans took to social media to fondly remember Balaiah through his films.
Junior Balaiah’s acting skills and versatility have earned him a massive fan following. His fans are mourning his demise and expressing their condolences on social media.
On November 2, Tamil cinema woke up to the sad news of Junior Balaiah’s sudden demise. Due to breathing difficulties and suffocation, Balaiah died today morning at his residence.
Reportedly, Junior Balaiah’s funeral will be held tomorrow on Friday (November 3) in Chennai.

70-year-old Raghu Balaiah is the son of late veteran actor TS Balaiah. Fondly called Junior Balaiah, he made his debut in 1975 with ‘Melnaattu Marumagal’. His famous films include ‘Karagattkaran’, ‘Sundara Kandam’, ‘Winner’ and ‘Saattai’.
Apart from films, he was also seen in television shows, including ‘Chithi’, ‘Vazhkai’ and ‘Chinna Papa Periya Papa’. In 2019, he was seen in an pivotal role in Ajith Kumar’s ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’, which is the official Tamil remake of ‘Pink’. His last film was ‘Yennanga Sir Unga Sattam’, which released in 2021.
