Tamil Nadu: 3 arrested, security tightened outside school after class 12 student dies by suicide in Kallakurichi

Tamil Nadu: According to the police latest update security tightened outside school after class 12 student dies by suicide in Kallakurichi district of Tamil Nadu. Director General of Tamil Nadu Police C Sylendra Babu and state’s Home Secretary Phanindra Reddy along with other officials met the police personnel at the hospital who were injured during the violence on Sunday. They said that three people have been arrested and a probe is underway.

Yesterday, Violence has spread in Tamil Nadu’s Kallakurichi after the death of a Class 12 student. Angry mobs entered the school demanding justice and ransacked. Along with this, school buses have been set on fire. During this, a large number of miscreants are present on the spot. There is tension in the area. Police has reached the spot. While giving information about the incident, the DGP of Tamil Nadu has said that the death of the school student was due to natural causes.

Talking to reporters in Chennai, Director General of Police C Shailendra Babu said that strict action would be taken against those involved in the violence. A 17-year-old student studying in a private residential school in Chinnasalem, 15 km from here, was found dead on July 13 in the hostel premises. The girl lived in a room on the third floor of the hostel and is believed to have committed suicide by jumping down from the top floor. Director General of Police C Shailendra Babu appealed to the people to maintain peace and warned the perpetrators of violence.

After the incident, Chief Minister MK Stalin Taking to the Twitter, he wrote, “Violence worries me. Accused will be punished when the police probe over the school girl’s death ends. I have asked the DGP and the Home Secretary to travel to Kallakurichi. I request people to maintain peace.”

The police tried to disperse them by lathi-charge. 500 policemen are also being sent to the spot. He says that the police will arrest all the accused who attacked the school. No one will be left out. Over 20 police personnel, including Deputy Inspector General of Police (Villupuram Range) M. Pandian, were injured in the pelting of stones.

After the death of the student, her family members, relatives and the people of her village Perivanasalur are continuously protesting demanding justice. He has demanded an investigation by the CB-CID into the death of the student and the arrest of the culprits.

After this whole incident, the School Education Department of Tamil Nadu has called for a report of the entire incident from the Chief Education Officer of Kallakurichi.The girl’s parents have approached the High Court to get her another post-mortem conducted.
