In Tamil Nadu, a devastating accident unfolded on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving over 15 individuals injured. The collision occurred in Maduranthakam when a bus attempted to overtake a lorry, leading to a tragic collision.
Padalam Police reported that the injured have been swiftly transported to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The incident, which involved a multiple collision between an omni bus, a lorry, and a state government bus, unfolded in the outskirts of Chennai. According to authorities, the driver of the omni bus lost control and collided with a lorry at Pookkathurai on the national highway in Maduranthakam during the early hours of the day. Subsequently, a state government bus trailing behind also collided with the omni bus.
Tragically, four individuals lost their lives on the spot, while numerous passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to Chengalpattu government hospital for treatment.
This unfortunate incident adds to a string of recent accidents, including a fatal collision on the Indore-Ahmedabad highway in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district, which claimed the lives of eight individuals and left one injured. The accident occurred late Wednesday night, further highlighting the pressing need for enhanced road safety measures.
