Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha Member Hospitalized After Ingesting Pesticide

A. Ganeshamoorthy, the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Erode constituency in Tamil Nadu, was rushed to a hospital after reportedly consuming pesticide, stirring concern among political circles.

Ganeshamoorthy, affiliated with the MDMK, was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore by his family members after he exhibited symptoms of uneasiness and vomiting. He informed his family about consuming pesticide before medical attention was sought.

Upon examination, he was transferred to the ICU and placed on a ventilator, as per police reports. Later, he was moved to a private hospital in Coimbatore, accompanied by medical professionals and family members.

MDMK leader Durai Vaiko confirmed the critical condition of Ganeshamoorthy, stating that he was undergoing ECMO treatment. Additional political figures, including S. Muthusamy, state Minister for Urban Development and Housing and Excise and Prohibition, Dr C. Saraswathy, BJP MLA of Modakurichi, and K.V Ramalingam of the AIADMK, visited the hospital to inquire about Ganeshamoorthy’s health.
