New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Chennai today. He will inaugurate several infrastructure projects including a state-of-the-art integrated terminal building at the Chennai airport.People will get a glimpse of Tamil culture in the new building of Chennai Airport. It includes kolam (a pattern or design drawn on the front of South Indian houses), saree, temple and other elements.

Construction of new integrated terminal building, T-2 (Phase-1) spread over 2.20 lakh square meters has been completed at a cost of Rs.1260 crores. Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s arrival, the police have increased security in the state. For their safety, motorists have to resort to other routes to reach their destinations due to the widening of traffic routes.

According to information, the work on the first phase of the new terminal at Chennai airport has been completed. With its construction, the number of passengers is now expected to increase to 35 million per year. Before the inauguration of the new terminal, PM Modi has given information about it in a tweet. He wrote that it is very important for the infrastructure of Chennai. Through this, not only connectivity will increase from here, but the local economy will also be greatly benefited.

According to Chennai airport officials, the new terminal is spread over an area of ​​around 2.20 lakh sq.m. He said that this terminal will provide high quality infrastructure to the passengers as promised by the government. The Ministry of Civil Aviation stated that the modern facility at Chennai airport will improve the air travel experience of 35 million passengers annually. Officials said the terminal is made up of 108 immigration counters which are evenly divided between the arrival and departure areas.

According to information, apart from the inauguration of the new terminal, PM Modi will also flag off the Vande Bharat train between Chennai and Coimbatore from Purachi Thalaivar Dr MGR Central Railway Station. In fact, Southern Railway has planned to run high-speed Vande Bharat Express trains between the two cities on all days except Wednesday.

Southern Railway said that the train will reach the destination in approximately 5.50 hours on both sides at a speed of 130 kmph. It will save travel time of 1.20 hours as compared to express trains. The Prime Minister will also participate in the 125th annual celebrations of the Ramakrishna Math at Vivekananda Illam on the arterial Kamarajar Salai (Beach Road) and inaugurate infrastructure projects at Pallavaram.

At the same time, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the central government will rejuvenate 1,275 out of 7,337 railway stations across the country. In this sequence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday. In a tweet, the PM said, “Redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station is an important project of upgradation of infrastructure, which will benefit innumerable people.”
