A police complaint was lodged by the victim's father alleging that the gang had beaten him up before abducting his daughter.
Hyderabad: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly abducted in a car by a gang of four in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district on Tuesday morning. The incident took place at Mudepalle village in Chandurthi mandal of the district around 5.30 am when the college student and her father were on their way to the temple, police said. This incident has been captured in CCTV. It is seen that the kidnappers forcibly took the woman in their car and ran away. In the video broadcast by local TV channels, the girl’s father is seen trying to save her.
A police complaint was later lodged by the victim’s father alleging that the gang had beaten him up before abducting his daughter. He said that one of the accused belonged to the girl’s village. According to the police, a few months ago the 24-year-old suspect eloped with the teenager, but police counseled him and the girl was handed over to her parents.
The CCTV footage shows three men getting off a car, pushing the father away and grabbing the woman, whom they shove into the backseat and speed away.
According to the villagers, the suspect had eloped with the girl a year ago. As she was a minor, the police booked the accused under the POCSO Act on a complaint by the girl’s family. The police later brought the accused and the girl to the village, and since then they had not met each other.
On Monday, the accused came to know that the marriage of the girl has been fixed with some other person, after which he along with his friends conspired to kidnap her. A case was registered and special teams were formed to arrest the accused and rescue the girl.
