Hyderabad: In yet another shocking incident that came to fore from Telangana where a BJP state executive member Gyanendra Prasad was found hanging at his residence in Alwin Colony of Miyapur on Monday. When the police reached his house, body was found hanging on the ceiling fan. It is suspected that he died by suicide.
According to police, Gyanendra Prasad (45), a member of the party’s state executive committee from Serlingampalli constituency, was found hanging from a fan in a room in his penthouse. His personal assistant informed the police about this. The reason behind the BJP leader’s suicide is not yet known.
“We received info of suicide and found one person hanging from a ceiling fan. We identified him as Gnanendra Prasad. The reason for his suicide is not known yet but he was staying in his penthouse for the past few days. A case u/s 174 CrPc is registered. A probe is on,” police noted.
According to the police, the incident came to light when Gyanendra Prasad’s assistant went to his room to give him breakfast and knocked on the door, but there was no response. After this, he looked through the window of the room and saw Prasad swinging from the fan.
The police have registered a case based on the complaint of the family members of the BJP leader. It has been told that Gyanendra Prasad’s leg was broken in an accident a month ago.
