New Delhi: On Wednesday, In view of continuing heavy rains, the Government has decided to extend holidays for all educational institutions (private and government) from 14 to 16 July in the State. Educational Institutions shall re-open from July 18.
Earlier, the State government had declared holidays for all educational institutions from July 11 to 13 in wake of the heavy rains lashing the State. However, with the rains continuing in many parts of the state, the authorities decided to extend the holidays by three more days.
In this regard, an order issued by the School Education Department said, “In view of the heavy rains and inclement weather conditions, the government has declared a holiday for all educational institutions (government, aided and private) from July 14 to July 16.” Decided to increase. It also said that educational institutions will be reopened from July 18.
Heavy rains have been lashing parts of the state for the last one week, creating a flood-like situation. The IMD has issued a red warning for Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Mancherial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban, and Jangaon districts on July 13 and an orange warning for these districts on July 14.
Consequent to the rains, low-lying areas were inundated and waterlogging was reported at some places in Adilabad, Warangal and other districts. Rivulets and other water bodies were in spate.The IMD has issued a yellow warning for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, and Jayashankar Bhupalapally districts of Telangana on July 15.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education also announced that the TS EAMCET exam for the Agriculture stream has been postponed due to heavy rains in the state. Earlier, the exam was scheduled on July 14 and 15. As of now no dates for the exams have been announced, but fresh dates would likely be announced soon.
