Telugu Veteran actor and former union minister Krishnam Raju passes away at the age of 83

Telugu cinema veteran Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, popularly known as Krishnam Raju, passed away on the morning of September 11 in Hyderabad at the age of 83.

New Delhi: Telugu cinema veteran Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, popularly known as Krishnam Raju, passed away on the morning of September 11 in Hyderabad at the age of 83. He was known as Rebel Star in Tollywood Cinema. Please tell that ‘Bahubali’ star Prabhas was his nephew.

Home Minister Amit Shah paid his condolences via Twitter, he wrote, “Pained to learn that the beloved star of Telugu Cinema and former Union Minister, U Krishnam Raju Garu has left us. He won millions of hearts with his versatile acting & worked for the betterment of society.His passing away leaves a deep void in our Telugu cinema. My condolences.”

The veteran actor acted in more than 180 films in his career. These include successful films like Jeevan Tarangalu, Mana Voori Pandavulu, Antama Theerpu, Amara Deepam, Tandra Paprayudu and Palanati Paurusham. She was last seen with her nephew Prabhas in the romantic drama film ‘Radhe Shyam’ which released earlier this year.

According to reports, the veteran of Telugu cinema was battling health issues for some time now. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. The 83-year-old actor breathed his last in Hyderabad. After the news of Krishnam Raju’s demise broke, the South film industry is in shock. People are expressing their condolences on social media.

Actor-turned-politician Krishnam Raju was expected to be discharged from the hospital in a few days. However, the health of the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader could not improve. Let us tell you He also served as the Union Minister for State in various ministries in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP government in the centre between 2000 and 2002. He was elected to the Kakinada and Narasapuram constituencies in the 12th and 13th Lok Sabha for the BJP.

Actor Manoj Manchu shared the post on social media and wrote, “This cannot be true. Such a great human being. We will miss you dearly sir. Your contribution to the film industry and society will live on and on forever. Om Shanti #KrishnamRaju garu. We will love you forever’.
