New Delhi: For the past few days, the Northern region of India is under chilling cold waves and this is likely to continue for the next few days as weather reports predict temperature to further drop in coming days. Where Delhi recorded the minimum temperature around 6 degrees this morning, meteorological department has issued a 3-day Orange Alert for the northern plains including Uttar Pradesh.
On Wednesday morning, states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan woke up to fog and then the rest of the day witnessed cold waves with gentle sunshine in some parts of the states, throughout the day. According to IMD forecast, fog will occur every morning in the entire UP for the next 4 to 5 days. In such a situation, fog sheet will be seen from western UP to eastern UP. Whereas, during the day temperature could see an increase in the temperature.
Weather reports claim temperature to fall further in next few days
As per weather reports, next few days could register drop in mercury. Fresh snowfall in Poonch area of Kashmir has also added to the difficulties. In many areas including the National capital, Delhi, the temperature is expected to fall further for a few days. The next two days are expected to be more freezing in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Keeping in view the bad weather, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Orange alert in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, UP and Madhya Pradesh for next 4-5 days. Meanwhile, dense fog has also been predicted for these parts of the country.
Heavy Rain to pour in Southern parts of the country
Where the northern parts are shivering in cool wind, South of India is predicted to receive heavy rains in some parts along with the epicenter cold.
