The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion is among the most decorated athletes of her generation. In fact, she has achieved almost everything in tennis. She has been planning to nurture her family.

Williams revealed her future plans in Vogue magazine, published on Tuesday. She said she didn’t want to choose between her career and having more children, but at almost 41, “something had to give.”

She further added that if I were a man, then I would continue and win, and it would be my wife’s duty to go for physical labour to expand our family.

Williams has not given an exact timetable for her retirement. The US Open 2022 is probably her last Grand Slam, which is set to start later this month in New York.

Williams and her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, are planning to have another child. She gave birth to her first child in 2017, named Alexis Olympia Ohanian. She has been focusing on investing in businesses started by women and people of colour.

The tennis champion wrote in a 2018 op-ed for CNN that she nearly lost her life after giving birth to her first baby because of a pulmonary embolism that sparked a slew of complications.
