Tensions Rise as Gogamedi’s Outfit Threatens to Halt Swearing-in; Police Alerted on Murder Plot in March

Recent developments have shed light on a disturbing plot to assassinate Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, President of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, with Punjab police alerting their Rajasthan counterparts about the sinister plan back in March. Documents reveal that Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Sampat Nehra, currently in Bathinda jail, was orchestrating the attack and had reportedly sought AK-47 rifles for the mission.

Two suspects have been detained in the possible involvement of Gogamedi’s murder

Two suspects have been detained in Haryana based on information from the mobile phone of their accomplice, Naveen Shekhawat, who was fatally shot. While Rajasthan police are investigating the possible involvement of these individuals in the murder, attention has focused on Rohit Rathore from Rajasthan’s Makrana and Nitin Fauji from Mahendragarh in Haryana.

Despite the ongoing investigations, a viral social media post attributed to Rohit Godara, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claims responsibility for ordering Gogamedi’s assassination. Allegedly, Gogamedi supported the gang’s rivals and was actively working against them.

Gogamedi’s outfit has issued a grave threat

In response, Gogamedi’s outfit has issued a grave threat, vowing not to cremate his body and obstructing the swearing-in of the new government until the “killers of their leader are encountered.”

Rohit Godara, known for his criminal record, hails from Rajasthan’s Bikaner and is presently evading authorities. He faces over 32 serious charges since 2010, including extortion demands ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 17 crore. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is actively pursuing measures to apprehend him, with criminal charges already lodged against him.

Godara’s involvement extends to orchestrating the murder of gangster Raju Theth in Sikar last year, taking responsibility for the act on Facebook. He has also been implicated in the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Reports suggest that Godara, associated with Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs, fled to Dubai in June 2022, using a fake passport. A red corner notice has been issued against him, and it is believed that he is currently in Canada, further complicating efforts to bring him to justice.
