New Delhi:Elon Musk’s electric car company Tesla has said that it is ready to assemble cars in India and is going to work on building a vendor base in the country. The Government of India has made this proposal to Elon Musk’s car company Tesla. It was given that he should not only assemble the electric car in India but also create a vendor base. The Modi government had suggested that initially Tesla could sell cars by assembling them in India and later gradually consider manufacturing the car.
Tesla has responded positively to this proposal of the Government of India. The company hopes that the integration of manufacturing and supply chain process can help it to set up a manufacturing plant in India. If Tesla comes forward to make its electric car in India, then the vendors present in China will have to shift to India. There is going to be a lot of trouble. India’s Technology Department Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar had earlier said that Tesla is seriously considering setting up a manufacturing plant in India.
When will the factory start:
At present, some official information has not been given by the company and the government on this, but according to media reports, Tesla may soon finalize the place for the factory in India. With this, it is expected that by the end of this year, work can be started from the company. After which the company’s cars can be officially offered for sale in India next year or by 2025.
